According to the new law signed by the President, the organization and conduct of Umrah events in Uzbekistan is defined as a separate type of licensed activity. Entrepreneurs who do not comply with the requirements of this law will be fined 200 times the BHM, currently 68 million soums. Also, a state fee of 10 times BHM (3.4 million soums) for obtaining a license is paid to the Committee on Religious Affairs, which is designated as the competent body in this field.

The Religious Affairs Committee will be the competent licensing body in this field. Violation in the field of obtaining a license for the organization and conduct of Umrah events will result in a fine of 200 times the BHM.

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed the law, which provides for the establishment of the provision of services for the organization and conduct of Umrah events as a separate type of licensable activity.

According to the amendment and supplement to the Law on Licensing, Authorization and Notification Procedures, the Religious Affairs Committee will be the competent licensing body in this field.

Also, the amount of fines imposed on legal entities for violations in the field of obtaining a license for the organization and conduct of Umrah events was set at 200 times the BHM (68 million soums).

In addition, according to the amendment to the Law "On State Duty", the state duty paid by the Religious Affairs Committee for licensing the activity of organizing and holding Umrah events is 10 times of BHM (3.4 million soums).

The law will enter into force 3 months after its official publication.
