Now parents who involve their children in illegal religious education can be held responsible
In Uzbekistan, parents or their substitutes who involve their children in illegal religious education may be held administratively liable. The draft law on this matter was adopted by the deputies in the first reading on June 25.
At the next meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the draft law "On amendments and additions to some legal acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan on further strengthening of children's rights" was considered in the first reading.
The draft law establishes administrative responsibility for the illegal involvement of a child in the process of religious education by parents or their substitutes, adding additional clauses to Article 47 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (Failure to fulfill obligations to raise and educate children) is offered.
That is, if a child is illegally involved in the process of religious education by parents or their substitutes, a fine of 10 to 15 times the base calculation amount will be imposed. If the same offense is repeated within a year after the administrative penalty is applied, a fine of 15 to 25 times the BHM or an administrative prison sentence of up to 15 days is prescribed.
Also, the involvement of the child in the process of receiving religious education illegally by parents or their substitutes, that is, at the disposal of the child by unregistered or unlicensed organizations or individuals who do not have special religious education and religious organizations without the permission of the central governing body for Uzbekistan it is determined that it will not be allowed to transfer for religious education.
