Mirziyoyev criticized the Anti-Corruption Agency

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev criticized the activities of the Anti-Corruption Agency.

"The biggest obstacle and stumbling block on the path to reforms is corruption. This is fully confirmed by world experience. The fact that the world economy suffers losses of $3 trillion a year due to corruption is evidence that this is a global threat. Corruption is such an evil that it undermines the people's trust in the state, the Constitution and laws, and becomes a serious threat to sustainable development and security," the president said.

While listing the reforms implemented on the President's initiative, Shavkat Mirziyoyev asked, "Why should these works begin after the President gives an order?"

Previously, Uzbekistan ranked 121st out of 180 countries in Transparency International's report on the level of corruption in the world, scoring 32 points, along with countries such as Angola, Ecuador, Kenya, Sri Lanka, and Togo.
