Is Uzbekistan abandoning Russian military equipment and turning to China?
Uzbekistan plans to purchase aircraft from China to replace the aging Su-27 and MiG-29 aircraft at its air force base.
According to Military Watch Magazine, Beijing has agreed to supply new fighter jets to Uzbekistan.
Under the agreement, Uzbekistan could purchase one or more of the JF-17 Block III, J-10C, or even the fifth-generation J-35.
Analysts say the government is gradually moving away from Russian military equipment and toward Chinese technology.
For your information, Uzbekistan has previously replaced its Soviet-era defense systems with Chinese HQ-9B, FM-90, and KS-1C systems.
