Ilhom Aliev in Uzbekistan: what's on the agenda?
President of Azerbaijan Ilhom Aliyev arrived in Tashkent on a state visit on August 22 . At the Tashkent International Airport, the head of Azerbaijan was met by officials led by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.
According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, in accordance with the program of the visit, it is planned to hold high-level negotiations and the first meeting of the Interstate Supreme Council under the chairmanship of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
Issues of further deepening and expansion of Uzbek-Azerbaijan strategic partnership and multilateral cooperation relations were included in the agenda of the summit.
The focus will be on increasing mutual trade, forming a new portfolio of cooperation projects, developing business relations, including interregional exchange, realizing transport and communication potential, activating cultural and humanitarian relations, and other issues.
It is also planned that the presidents will hold a meeting with business representatives of the two countries and participate in a number of business and cultural events.
In particular, on August 22, Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan business forum was held in Tashkent. According to "Report", in addition to the officials of both sides, about 300 businessmen working in construction, industry, agriculture, automobile industry, transport-logistics, health care, tourism and other fields took part in the forum.
Let's remind, before the visit to Uzbekistan, the head of Azerbaijan, Ilhom Aliev, held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Baku on August 19.
