Historical masterpieces stored in Britain are being returned to Uzbekistan

Unique works and historical artifacts from the golden age of Islamic civilization, which have been kept in private collections and museums in Britain for years, are being returned to Uzbekistan.

Among them are Quranic manuscripts dating from the 9th–13th centuries, rare jewelry, historical fabrics, and works of art.

According to the Center for Islamic Civilization, these artifacts were purchased through auction houses in Britain, such as Sotheby's and Christie's.

At the same time, more than 800 examples of cultural heritage related to the history of Uzbekistan are still stored in British museums, the report says.
