Global brands are getting rich off the slavery of Uyghurs

The Dutch human rights organization GRC has published a report alleging that international companies are purchasing minerals associated with forced labor in East Turkestan.

The list of such companies includes Nescafé, Coca-Cola, Carrefour, Walmart, Disney, Starbucks, and more than 60 other brands.

Chinese suppliers are exploiting the labor of Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples to supply these companies with metals such as titanium, lithium, beryllium, and magnesium.

After the report was released, China's Foreign Ministry called the allegations "lies of enemies and interference in the country's internal affairs."

According to official data, 88 percent of China's mineral resources are located in East Turkestan.
