"Citizen" card: to whom it is issued and what are its benefits?
Based on the decision of the President of Uzbekistan, compatriots from abroad who actively participate in the life of Uzbekistan and carry out charitable (philanthropic) activities in the republic will be issued a certificate of "Vatandosh", a document considered as the basis for obtaining a "Vatandosh" card. Its benefits and conditions have been announced.
According to the decision of the President of Uzbekistan announced on November 20, some Uzbeks living abroad will be given a "Citizen" certificate and a card with the same name, the "Legal Information" Telegram channel belonging to the Ministry of Justice reported.
The procedure for issuing, issuing and canceling the "Vatandosh" certificate and the "Vatandosh" card was established by the regulation to citizens who seek to actively participate in the economic and social life of the republic.
"Vatandosh" certificate is a form of encouragement for compatriots living abroad, a sign of gratitude and thanks to compatriots who actively participate in the economic and social life of Uzbekistan, who make a worthy contribution to strengthening the country's friendly relations with other countries, who carry out charitable (philanthropic) activities in the republic, and "Vatandosh" a document that is considered the basis for obtaining a card.
On the basis of proposals and initiatives, the ministries and departments submit a recommendation to the Commission for consideration of the candidates submitted for issuing certificates.
"Vatandosh" card is a document in the form of an ID card issued on the basis of a certificate for a period of 5 years (not exceeding the date of validity of a citizen's national passport) and giving the right to use the privileges established in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan; the following rights are granted:
Visa-free entry and exit to the territory of Uzbekistan;
when buying real estate in the territory of the country, the amount of real estate determined for foreign citizens is not applied, and a certificate of residence in the Republic of Uzbekistan is not required;
engaging in work without documents confirming the right to work for a foreign citizen;
Access to medical, educational and other state services under the conditions set for citizens of Uzbekistan.
Family members of card holders (parents, spouse and minor children) are given the following benefits:
obtaining a multiple-entry visa without charging a state fee, with the possibility of unlimited extensions without the need to leave the territory of Uzbekistan to extend the validity of the current visa;
Use of medical, educational and other public services under the conditions provided for citizens of Uzbekistan;
formalization and extension of registration at the place of temporary stay in internal affairs bodies without charging a state fee.
