China is covering up genocide: A staged spectacle for Western journalists in Beijing
The Chinese government organized an event in Beijing on March 9 with the participation of foreign journalists, attempting to justify its policy in East Turkestan.
However, the statements of officials turned out to be just another attempt to mislead the world community.
According to the pro-government Tengri Tag newspaper, a fake "Uyghur Autonomous Region delegation" held an open meeting at the session of the National People's Congress (NPC) of the PRC.
Chinese officials, however, tried to convince Western media of their version by answering questions about the situation in East Turkestan.
However, the reality is quite different. China has been suppressing the people of East Turkestan for years, calling it a fight against the "three evil forces."
Also, as part of its genocidal policy, Beijing is pursuing a policy of Sinicization of Islam, imposing strict bans on religious ceremonies and Islamic practices.
According to human rights activists, more than 16,000 mosques have been damaged or destroyed, and those that remain have been converted into bars, cafes, and other non-Islamic venues.
