Azerbaijan's embassy in Iran, which was closed as a result of an armed attack on January 27, 2023, started working in a new address and a new building. It was reported that the Iranian side has taken appropriate measures to ensure diplomatic security in front of the new embassy building.

"TASS" informs that the activity of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tehran, which has been closed since January 2023, has been resumed.

"As a result of negotiations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, from July 15, 2024, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran resumed its activities at a new address. The ambassador and the current staff of the embassy have returned to Iran," said the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

The press service stated that the Iranian side "has taken appropriate measures to ensure diplomatic security in front of the new embassy building."

At the moment, work is underway to establish a consular service in the new building of the diplomatic mission. The consulate is expected to resume operations soon.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan announced that the diplomatic activity of the embassy has been completely suspended.
