Iran unilaterally cancels the visa regime for 32 countries
Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Izzatullah Zergami said after the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held in the capital Tehran that it was decided to unilaterally cancel visas with 32 countries in order to revive tourism. This was reported by TRT with reference to Iran's state news agency IRNA.
Zergami noted that the government accepted the offer and "decided to open the country's doors to the world." ", he said.
The Iranian minister did not reveal which of these 32 countries were canceled one-way visas. However, during the International Tourism Forum held in Samarkand in October of this year, Zergami announced that Iran intends to unilaterally cancel the visa procedure for citizens of Uzbekistan. At the time, it was reported that Iran was considering a border easing policy, according to which it could unilaterally cancel visa requirements for passport holders of 60 countries.
