Azerbaijan increased gas exports to Europe in 2023
Since the beginning of gas sales to European countries, Azerbaijan has supplied a total of 31 billion cubic meters of gas.
Azerbaijan exported 11.8 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe in 2023. Minister of Energy of the country Parviz Shah Bazov informed about this.
"On the basis of short- and long-term contracts, 11.8 billion cubic meters of gas were exported to Europe," Shakhbazov X wrote on the social network.
According to him, in 2022, Baku will deliver 11.4 billion cubic meters to the European Union sold gas. That is, the volume of deliveries in this direction increased by 3.5 percent.
According to Shakh Bazov, over 31 billion cubic meters of gas has been exported in total for three years since Azerbaijan started supplying gas to the EU.
Earlier, it was reported that in 2023, Azerbaijan will send half of its gas exports to Europe. This, according to official estimates, indicates that Baku's energy strategy is being successfully implemented.
"The projects we initiated and implemented have significantly changed the Eurasian energy map. Today , the Baku-Tbilisi- Jehan and Baku-Supsa oil pipelines deliver Azerbaijani oil to the Mediterranean and Black Sea markets. The Southern Gas Corridor is a major infrastructure project with a length of 3.5 thousand km, which makes a great contribution to the energy security of Europe," said Ilhom Aliev, a resident of the republic , in his speech at the opening ceremony of the Serbian-Bulgarian intersystem gas in Nis, Serbia .
