Access to TikTok is restricted in Kyrgyzstan
The Ministry of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan announced that access to the TikTok social network will be restricted in the country based on the letter of the State Committee for National Security.
Access to the TikTok social network is restricted in Kyrgyzstan. This information was confirmed by the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development.
Earlier, some mass media reported that a letter was sent to all internet providers in the country from the Telecommunications Regulatory and Control Service to restrict access to the TikTok information service in Kyrgyzstan and to provide a written response by April 18 .
The Ministry informed that these measures are being implemented based on the letter of the State Committee for National Security.
The decision was based on TikTok's compliance with the Kyrgyz law "On measures to prevent harm to children's health, physical, intellectual, mental, spiritual and moral development". The law defines the types of information harmful to children's health and development ," the Ministry of Digital Development said .
The Kyrgyz government tried to ban TikTok in August 2023 , and later the head of the relevant service assured that the social network will not be blocked for now .
