On August 15, a regional forum-council of heads of emergency departments of Central Asian countries was held in Cholpon-Ota on the coast of Issyk-Kul.

The event was held under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side in order to discuss and coordinate actions on strengthening regional cooperation in the field of the implementation of the Sendai program aimed at reducing the risk of natural disasters.

At the forum , the delegation of Kazakhstan headed by Minister Major General Chingiz Arinov, the first deputy chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan, Colonel Khotamsho Latif , Minister of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan, Major General Abdulla Koldoshev, as well as representatives of UN agencies, donors, international and non-governmental organizations took part in Latifza.

The Minister of Emergencies of Kyrgyzstan, Major General Boobek Ajikeev, stressed the importance of the forum for constructive dialogue, exchange of information and experience, noting that Central Asia remains a vulnerable region prone to various natural disasters, from earthquakes to landslides. The head of the FVV of Kyrgyzstan also emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation between the departments to strengthen efforts to protect the population and territories from natural and man-made emergency situations.

The minutes of the meeting summarizing the agreements reached at the regional forum and the planned steps for cooperation were signed.
