A proposal was made to build a replica of the Kaaba in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani MP Gudrat Hasanguliev took the initiative to create an exact replica of the Kaaba in Mecca in the Ashobi Kahf cave area in the city of Nakhchivan.

According to him, Saudi Arabia replaces the Kaaba covering (kiswa) every year and donates the old one to one of the Muslim countries. Azerbaijan, as a Muslim country, can also apply to receive such a covering.

The deputy noted that only a limited number of people can enter the holy shrine in Mecca. The new Kaaba in Ash-e-Kahf will be open to all pilgrims.

He believes that this project can also contribute to the development of pilgrimage tourism in the country.
