BANDALIK ETIQUETTE
The Prophet (peace be upon him) says: "I was sent to improve good morals" (narration of Imam Malik); "On the Day of Judgment, nothing will be heavier than good morals on the scales of a believer. Allah hates a person who does bad deeds and says bad words" (Narrated by Imam Tirmidhi).
Therefore, the basis of religion and worship, that is, of worshiping God, is good morals and manners. Satan was cursed not because of any defect in his knowledge or practice, but because of his immorality. Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) achieved salvation with his manners. Maulana Rumi says: "Iblis did not obey God's command, he did not prostrate to Adam. "My origin is fire, his is earth. I will not bow down to my inferiors!” In this way, he disobeyed God and was expelled from God. As if this was not enough, the dispute with the One who created him became richer. Whatever happens to a person, it happens because of his decency. For the sake of decency, the blue ones were drowned in light. Malak is also pure and infallible because of his manners.
Abu Ali Daqqaq says: "Whoever commits immorality in front of the Sultan will be sent to the race, and whoever commits indecency in the race will be sent to the stable."
Etiquette is consent
Acceptance of God's destiny is true manners. Because God is not obliged to fulfill the wishes of His servants. On the contrary, servants are responsible for fulfilling the commands of God.
God Almighty is the owner of great grace. It is from the bounty of God that He gives us sustenance, health, peace of mind, and protection. Maulana Rumi explains this fact as follows: "Hazrat Ali was standing on a high roof. An ignorant person came and asked: "Will God protect you?" he asked. Hazrat Ali said: "Certainly." "Then," said the other man, "throw yourself off the roof saying that God will save me." Believe that your faith is strong." Hazrat Ali said: "Be silent, lest any calamity befall you because of your greed." Is it fitting for a slave to try to test God in an indecent way by throwing himself into destruction? Such a test is characteristic of Allah Almighty, He tests His servants every moment. Test yourself, and you will stop testing others."
It is to know the limit of decency
Jesus (peace be upon him) was accompanied by a man. On the way, a man who saw bones on the side of the road begged:
- Oh Jesus, teach me "Ismi Azam" to give life to the bones!
- Jesus (peace be upon him) answered, in order to revive the dead by reading "Ismi Azam", a person must have a pure heart and tongue. - Because the prayer of a pure person is accepted. Suppose you have my wand in your hand. But when I don't have the power, how can you turn the staff into a dragon and control it?
The ignorant man persisted even after so many words:
- If I don't have such a talent, then pray to the bones yourself!
In response to such stupidity, Hazrat Jesus (peace be upon him) said two words: "An ignorant person makes his heart dead and is about to revive another's body. What kind of carelessness is this?!”
From the narration, we understand that the servant's duty is, first of all, to serve the Lord. It is excessive and impolite to engage in other activities without this.
From the following story, we can learn how the relationship between God and a servant should be: "A man bought a righteous slave. When they got home, they had the following conversation:
- What kind of food do you want to eat?
- I will eat whatever you give me.
- What clothes do you want to wear?
- I will wear whatever you give me.
- What jobs do you want to do in my house?
- I will do whatever you order.
- Which room do you want to sleep in?
- I will sleep wherever you see fit.
The man who heard these answers thought for a while. Then he said with tears in his eyes:
- If I surrendered to God like that, I would be the happiest person in the world!
Then he said: "I released you for the sake of Allah. But, if it were up to me, I would like you not to go. So that I may be at your service with my life and wealth..."
So, to accept fate, to be patient with pain and hardships is one of the virtues of true servitude. And the annoyance sometimes comes from servants like you. Even in such a situation, the believer demonstrates the morals of Islam. That is, as the beloved servants of the Most Merciful are described in the Holy Qur'an, they walk humbly on the ground, and when ignorant people say (nonsensical) words, "May there be health!" he answers (Furqan, 63).
Maulana Rumi says: "O Muslim, what is etiquette?" if you say, know that etiquette is to be patient with the rudeness, unpleasant words and actions of the rude."
This is the essence of manners. It is very important to follow it. After all, the guardians have these words: "Keep your outward and inward manners firmly. Because if a person does not observe outward manners, he will be punished outwardly, and if he makes a mistake in inward manners, he will be punished inwardly. Whoever wastes manners, even if he thinks he is close to God, he is far away. If he knows himself acceptable, he is rejected, he is rejected" ("Ruhul Bayan").
