US wants to blacklist Muslim Brotherhood

Senator Ted Cruz and representatives of the Republican Party in the United States have launched an initiative to include the Muslim Brotherhood on the list of terrorist organizations.

On July 17, 2025, a corresponding amendment was introduced in the Senate. According to the document, it is envisaged not only to blacklist the organization, but also to develop a new national strategy against it. Ted Cruz explained his initiative by the fact that the Muslim Brotherhood movement is a threat to the United States and its allies.

A similar bill is currently being considered in the lower house of the US Congress.
