US kills senior ISIS leader

On July 25, US Central Command conducted a raid in the northern Syrian city of al-Bab, killing a senior ISIS leader and his two adult sons.

The operation, which took place in the Aleppo province, resulted in the deaths of Zawba Muslih al-Hardani and his sons, Abdullah and Abdurrahman. All of them were considered "a threat to U.S. and coalition forces, as well as the new Syrian government," a CENTCOM statement said.

"We will continue to relentlessly pursue ISIS militants, wherever they are, alongside our partners and allies," said CENTCOM commander Gen. Michael Kurilla.

For your information, the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) emerged as an Al-Qaeda affiliate in 2006. Since 2014, an international coalition has been operating against it due to its extremist claims, and by 2019, it was almost completely eliminated.
