The US plans to respond to an attack on an American base "in several levels and stages".
The United States has announced that it will take "multi-level and long-term" retaliation in response to the drone attack on the American base on the Syrian-Jordanian border that killed three of its soldiers and injured more than 30 others.
The US will respond to attacks on an American base on the Syrian-Jordanian border, and the response will be multi-layered and long-term. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced this on Monday.
Blinken noted that Washington has taken all measures to prevent such attacks from repeating. Joe Biden's administration is studying options for a military response, he said.
"As the president said yesterday, we will respond (to this attack), and that response will be multi-level, phased and over time," the secretary of state said.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced that 3 American servicemen were killed and 25 wounded as a result of a drone attack near the Syrian border in Jordan.
