The United States allocated $250 million in new military aid to Ukraine
The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that $250 million in new military aid will be sent to Ukraine.
The US administration, which failed to pass the $61 billion defense aid package to Ukraine through Congress before the New Year, has announced that it will send new military aid to Ukraine, Anadolu reports.
The Pentagon's written statement said that the $250 million military aid package includes surface-to-air missile systems, Stinger missiles, artillery ammunition, anti-tank weapons and other weapons needed by the Ukrainian army.
Joe Biden's administration is expected to continue working in the new year to pass a package that includes $61 billion in additional aid to Ukraine that has been blocked by Senate Republicans.
Republicans in the Senate did not support the bill, which was included in the agenda in the last days of December, because it did not include additional measures aimed at increasing the security of the southern borders of the United States.
