The leadership of the Taliban participated in the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Banjul, the capital of Gambia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Interim Government of Afghanistan made a statement about this on the X social network.
It was noted that the delegation led by the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdulkahar Balkhi, participated in the 15th OIC summit held in Banjul.
According to the report, the OIC sent an official invitation to the Taliban administration to participate in the summit, and the delegation held a series of meetings with representatives of the OIC and various countries.
Earlier, we wrote that the Taliban wants to participate in this summit, and Abdul Salam Hanafi, acting as the deputy head of the Interim Government of Afghanistan, met with Tariq Ali Bakhit, the special representative of the OIC for Afghanistan.
At the meeting, Hanafi said that suffering is widespread in the Islamic world, and that Muslim countries should cooperate to solve the problems.
