Kazakhstan removes the Taliban from the list of banned organizations
Kazakhstan has announced that it will remove the Taliban from the list of banned organizations in the country.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Aybek Smadiyarov, announced that the Taliban movement (recognized as a terrorist organization in several countries) will be removed from the list of banned organizations in the country. He told about this in an interview with Kazinform state agency .
According to him, Kazakhstan regularly reviews the national list of banned terrorist organizations in order to update them, and as part of this process, it was decided to exclude the Taliban from it.
"According to the mandatory resolutions of the UN Security Council, the Taliban movement is not included in the list of terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council," he said.
Smadiyarov said that with regard to political relations, Kazakhstan "strictly adheres" to the decisions and resolutions adopted by the Security Council and the UN General Assembly.
