Taiwan shows off tanks it received from America

The Taiwanese government has launched the largest military exercise in the country's history, dubbed "Hanguan."

Taiwanese leader Lai Tsing-jin watched live fire from American-made Abrams M1A2T tanks as part of the exercises.

The fact is that Taipei purchased 108 modern battle tanks from the United States for $1.45 billion, which significantly strengthened the defense of the northern part of the island, where high-tech manufacturing enterprises are located.

Taiwan's military arsenal has also been enriched with F-16V fighter jets, HIMARS missile systems, and stealth drones.

China considers Taiwan a breakaway province and has threatened to use force to assert control over the island. Beijing has called the military exercises "absurd" and said they would not affect its goal of seizing the island.

For your information, the United States currently remains Taiwan's largest arms supplier. However, Washington has not expressed a clear position on direct military intervention in the event of a Chinese attack.
