Russia to accept thousands of Afghan migrants

Russia has reached an agreement with the Afghan government to radically expand labor migration. According to the Baza publication, the number of Afghans working on Russian construction sites will soon reach a thousand.

It is noted that skilled Afghan workers of various specialties will be sent to Russia - from stonemasons and welders to electricians and painters. They are already being issued permits to work in Chechnya, Dagestan and the Krasnodar Territory. Afghan farmers - specialists in plant breeding, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine - have also expressed interest in finding work in Russia. Some of the construction teams from Afghanistan are planned to be deployed to the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine to carry out demolition and restoration work.
