Russia is developing a long-term Islamic education strategy

Muslim religious figures and academics in Russia are developing an Islamic education strategy that will be valid until 2037. This was announced by the head of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Russia, Mufti Albir Krganov.

He noted that final amendments and additions are currently being made to this document.

"We are working with the Religious Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan to launch international and domestic projects. In particular, together with the Mufti of Tatarstan, the Bulgarian Islamic Academy, the Rector of the Russian Islamic University, and the Chairman of the Council for Islamic Education, Rafik Mukhametshin, we are discussing a comprehensive Islamic education strategy until 2037," he said.

This strategy is aimed at developing religious education, and includes separate sections on working with youth, digitalization, and other modern areas.

Tatarstan's Mufti Kamil Samigullin said that the region has three Muslim comprehensive schools, about 700 mosque-based courses for children and adults, eight professional-level madrasas, as well as the Russian Islamic Institute, Kazan Islamic University, and the Bulgarian Islamic Academy.

Such a system allows for the acquisition of religious knowledge at all levels, from elementary to academic preparation.
