Qatar: Israel and Hamas agree to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar announced that the delivery of medicine and humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip has begun as part of the agreement signed between Israel and Hamas. Majid al-Ansari, the spokesman of the Qatari Foreign Ministry, made a statement about this on the X page.
"Medicines and aid have arrived in the Gaza Strip as part of the agreement announced yesterday for the benefit of civilians in the Gaza Strip, including Israeli prisoners," Ansari said.
Qatar announced yesterday that an agreement had been reached between Israel and Hamas, which included the delivery of medicine and humanitarian aid to civilians in the region in exchange for the supply of medicine to prisoners in Gaza.
According to the Israeli military, there are still 136 Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip.
During the "humanitarian pause" brokered by Qatar and Egypt on November 24, 2023, which was extended for 4 days and then for 3 days, 81 Israeli and 240 Palestinian prisoners were mutually released.
