More than 7,000 immigrants from 24 countries left southern Mexico for the United States
Thousands of immigrants from 24 countries made their way to the United States from southern Mexico.
In Tapachula, Chiapas, southern Mexico , thousands of people from 24 countries walked to the United States under the slogan "Get Out of Poverty," La reported. Jornada publication.
Among them are immigrants from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, India and others.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and National Security Adviser Liz Sherwood-Randall are expected to meet with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in Mexico City on Wednesday to discuss the issue.
Earlier, CBS TV, citing sources in the federal government, reported that nearly 50,000 illegal immigrants entered the United States in five days of last week.
