More than 600,000 foreigners arrive in Saudi Arabia for Hajj



The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that more than 600,000 pilgrims have arrived in the country by land, air and sea so far, accounting for 42 percent of the total visas issued for the Hajj season, indicating that the flow of foreign pilgrims is accelerating.

Minister of Hajj and Umrah Affairs Tawfiq Al-Rabia personally inspected the infrastructure and services at the holy sites as part of preparations for the Hajj season of 1446 AH. He also inspected the equipment, deployment plans, and quality of services of the service companies.

The projects planned to be launched this year include a new 200-bed hospital in the Mina Valley, 71 first aid stations along pedestrian paths, the installation of umbrellas and cooling systems, 320 umbrellas and 350 water spray fans on an 85,000-square-meter area near the Namira Mosque, as well as the construction of 61 modern two-story complexes to replace the 2,116 old toilets in the valley, bringing the total number of toilets to more than 5,600.

Also, in accordance with the "Green Sacred Places" project, which is being implemented as part of the "Green Saudi Arabia" initiative, 20,000 trees have been planted on an area of 290,000 square meters.
