According to the investigation, Kyle Walter Martin verbally assaulted a Muslim woman wearing a hijab at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport in Broward County, Islamnews writes.
Martin aggressively approached the woman, called her a terrorist, then chased her and made obscenities at the Muslim woman as she tried to find a safe place to board a Spirit Airlines flight. Several passengers witnessed this incident and some of them defended the Muslim woman.

Omar Salih, general counsel for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said the victim is grateful to Broward County investigators for their thorough investigation of a crime of religious discrimination, especially at the airport.
"It is not always acceptable to persecute someone because of their appearance (religiously). We thank the authorities for their investigation and prosecution of this incident,” added Council Branch Director Cory Saylor.
