Iran and the US have warned each other
Through the Arab countries, Iran has warned the United States that it will attack American military bases in the region if it intervenes in the situation with Israel . And Joe Biden said that Tehran will not succeed.
Through several Arab countries, Iran conveyed the news to Joe Biden's administration that if the United States intervenes in the situation with Israel, the American bases in the region will be attacked. This was reported by Axios, citing three anonymous American officials.
According to the sources, the Iranians have said that they hold the US responsible for the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
"We will attack the forces that attacked us, so do not interfere in this case, and we will not interfere [in your case]," said the message sent to the US administration.
At the same time, Iran has been sending "more balanced" messages through other channels about a limited response that would not escalate military tensions in the region, the two sources said.
U.S. officials said that they are in constant contact with regional partners and Israel to reassure them that Israel is in a state of self-defense and to prevent tensions from spreading. Also, the US government asked Israel to notify the UN in advance and consult with it about any retaliatory measures against Iran.
US President Joe Biden, responding to journalists' questions, called on Iran not to attack Israel. He vowed to protect Israel and said Tehran would not succeed if it decided to use force.
Earlier, the Hezbollah movement near Iran in Lebanon fired rockets into Israeli territory - all the rockets were shot down.
