The Minister of Health of Lebanon reported that 25 people were killed in the explosion of walkie-talkies, and 12 people were killed in the explosion of pagers, a total of 37 people. Reuters and The Times of Israel sources said the pagers and walkie-talkies that exploded were bought by Hezbollah members five months ago. According to Axios, the explosives in the devices were pre-planted by Israeli intelligence services and then handed over to Hezbollah. The group plans to use them as part of an emergency communications system for use in the event of a potential conflict with Israel.
