Gaza government: Thousands of tons of humanitarian aid have not passed through Egypt
The government of the Gaza Strip announced that thousands of tons of humanitarian aid sent from dozens of countries for the people of Gaza never passed through Egypt, Al Jazeera reports.
It is noted that for many weeks this aid has been on the other side of the Rafah checkpoint and has not been delivered to Gaza. Unfortunately, hundreds of tons of aid have already become unusable.
" We demand that this aid be delivered to the Gaza Strip immediately, because the situation is catastrophic. The Palestinian people are suffering from acute shortages of food, water and medicine. "Thousands of children are starving to death in northern Gaza ," the Gaza government said in a statement.
The Gaza Strip needs 1,000 trucks a day of real baby milk, basic necessities, food and medical equipment. Also, the Gaza Strip needs a million liters of fuel per day to run hospitals, bakeries, wells, drinking water stations and other important facilities.
The statement warned the US and international organizations about the danger of endorsing the occupation policy aimed at starving Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and held them accountable for these crimes. It was also noted that their practice violates international law and all international conventions and norms.
