Ukrainian drones attacked the Murmansk region for the first time. The distance from the border to the place where the plane was shot down is a record 1850 km. This attack was assessed as the result of the weakness of the RF air defense forces.

Ukrainian drones attacked the Murmansk region on Wednesday, regional governor Andrey Chibis said.

According to z-military correspondents, the drones managed to fly to the village of Visoki, north of the Olenya military airfield, where Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 strategic missile carriers are located.

For the first time since the start of the war, Ukrainian drones attacked an object at a record distance: the distance from the border to the village of Visoki is 1,850 km.

The previous record - 1,800 km - was set by the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the end of May, when they attacked the city of Orsk in the Orenburg region, where the early warning radar station for a nuclear attack (Voronezh radars) was located. Before that, the most distant target of Ukrainian drones was an object in the city of Salavat of the Republic of Bashkortostan, located 1,660 km from the Russian-Ukrainian border.

According to Mash, the drone that attacked the Murmansk region may have been launched from Chernihiv. According to local residents, a similar A22 Flying Fox drone was seen in the area the day before. Due to the raid, airspace restrictions were imposed at Murmansk and Apatit airports.

In fact, taking into account the indirect route, the drone traveled about 2,000 km, and this happened due to "big cracks " in the Russian air defense system, writes "Voennyy osvedomitel" . " He was able to fly to such a long distance thanks to a well-designed route, taking into account the maps of air defense zones and the operation of their radars," the author of the channel notes.
