Four-time Grammy Award-winning Ethiopian-Canadian artist Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, has donated nearly $2 million from the XO Humanitarian Fund to aid Gazans suffering food shortages due to the Israeli attack.

The donation was made in cooperation with the World Food Program (WFP) of the United Nations. Weeknd's funds will be used to buy 1,500 tons of wheat flour, which will be used to bake 18 million loaves of bread for almost 160,000 Palestinians.

Abel also called on his fans to join him in raising funds for the starving people in Gaza.

World Food Program US President Baroon Segar says hunger is a man-made problem and it can be solved. Thanks to donations, families and children get the food they need.

Earlier in December 2023, the artist donated 2.5 million dollars to the World Food Program to buy 820 tons of food for the Palestinians.
