Boycott campaign against US goods launched in India
After US President Donald Trump imposed a 50% tariff on Indian products, calls for a boycott of American brands such as McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Amazon and Apple have increased in India.
Prime Minister Modi's supporters and business leaders are urging the public to "buy Indian products," citing the international success of South Korean brands as an example.
While sales of American products have not yet plummeted in the country, protests, social media campaigns, and lists of local alternatives on WhatsApp are becoming increasingly popular.
