Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sent a letter to the new leader of Syria, Ahmed al-Shar'

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter to the country's interim president, Ahmed al-Shar', regarding political changes in Syria.

In the letter, Ilham Aliyev congratulated Ahmad al-Shar' on his appointment to this position and stressed that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of friendly and cooperative relations with Syria. He noted that Azerbaijan is ready to provide Syria with the necessary assistance during this important transition period.

President Aliyev noted that there are good opportunities to bring Azerbaijani-Syrian relations to a new level and expand bilateral cooperation. In this regard, he invited the Syrian leader to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan.
