Afghan government spokesman says 58 Pakistani soldiers killed

Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 30 were wounded in the operation on the night of October 12. 20 Pakistani security posts were also destroyed.

Mujahid added that weapons were also seized during the retaliation operations along the Durand Line. Nine Afghan soldiers were killed and 16 wounded during the clashes.

The operation was suspended at midnight at the request of Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
