A number of EU countries are on the verge of recognizing Palestine
The governments of Spain, Malta, Ireland and Slovenia intend to recognize the Palestinian state, said Borrell, the head of European diplomacy.
Today, on May 10, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, announced this on the air of the Spanish radio station RNE.
According to him, Spain will recognize Palestine on May 21, and Malta, Ireland and Slovenia are planning to recognize it soon.
The diplomat also did not rule out a similar step by Belgium in the future.
Answering the question about the borders of the Palestinian state, Borrell pointed out that they have already been determined by the relevant resolutions of the UN.
"We don't want to create them ourselves. This issue has already been clearly stated in UN resolutions," said the head of European diplomacy.
