A Dutch court has banned the country's government from supplying Israel with spare parts for the F-35 fighter jets it uses to bombard the Gaza Strip .
The Dutch court has banned the country's government from supplying Israel with spare parts for the F-35 fighter jets used in the bombing of the Gaza Strip , TRT reports.
"It cannot be denied that there is a clear risk that the exported F-35 parts will be used in serious violations of international humanitarian law," the court decision said.
Earlier, rights groups appealed after a lower court rejected claims that the supply of spare parts violated international law by Israel.
US-owned F-35 parts are stored in a warehouse in the Netherlands and then shipped to several partners, including Israel, under existing export agreements.
However, NGOs, including local chapters of Amnesty International and Oxfam, argue that involvement in the supply chain also constitutes the Netherlands' involvement in the war.
These spare parts "allow real bombs to be dropped on real homes and real families," said Michel Servaes, director of Oxfam Novib.
