Abdulla Aripov and Mikhail Mishustin spoke at the meeting of the joint commission at the level of heads of government held in Tashkent. In particular, Mikhail Mishustin called Uzbekistan "a reliable partner of Russia". Abdulla Aripov stated that Uzbekistan intends to further expand cooperation with the leading companies of the Russian Federation - statements.

Uzbekistan is "always ready for close and constructive cooperation with Russia in all directions of bilateral and multilateral relations". This was announced by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov at the meeting of the joint commission at the level of heads of government in Tashkent on September 9, Gazeta.uz reports.

It is noted that Russia remains the main foreign economic and one of the largest investment partners of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov said. In the last seven years, the volume of trade between the two countries has increased 2.5 times. By the end of 2023, it has exceeded 10 billion dollars. According to the data of the Uzbek side, the exchange of goods increased by 30% in the seven months of this year.

"At the same time, the composition of mutual supplies is changing in terms of quality. First of all, at the expense of products with high added value," said the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan.

During the state visit of President Vladimir Putin to Tashkent in May, the leaders of the two countries set the goal of increasing the volume of mutual trade to 30 billion dollars by 2030. "For this, it is important to take concrete joint measures to implement cooperation and import substitution projects," he said.

Today, more than 3,000 enterprises are operating in Uzbekistan in cooperation with Russia. The portfolio of projects has exceeded 60 billion dollars. Abdulla Aripov said cooperation projects are being implemented in mining, metallurgy, energy, chemistry, agriculture, electrical engineering, textile and other sectors, digitization and artificial intelligence.

"We intend to further expand cooperation with the leading enterprises of the Russian Federation. A joint investment platform was created at the initiative of the heads of state. First of all, it serves to finance important infrastructure and industrial projects of mutual interest in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan," he said.

It is planned to organize more than 100 mutual visits by the end of the year within the framework of cooperation at the regional level. "We have never had anything like this in our history. "Our offices and regions took an active part in St. Petersburg Economic Forum, Caucasus Investment Forum, Kazan Forum, and Innoprom," said the head of government.

An important area of cooperation is transport-transit cooperation, he continued: "We are interested in forming new international transport corridors that will allow our countries to open promising markets for the sale of products."

"The number of direct flights between our countries has reached almost 300 flights per week. We do not have this indicator with any other country in the world. The railway passenger service, whose geography continues to expand, has been fully restored," said Abdulla Aripov.

Mikhail Mishustin called Uzbekistan a "reliable partner of Russia": "Relations between our countries are based on the principles of equality, respect and consideration of each other's interests. We are actively expanding economic and investment cooperation."

He noted that, according to Russian statistics, last year's trade increased by 11.5% (more than 820 billion rubles), and in the first half of this year, it increased by almost 9%. "I think we have all the opportunities to realize [the strategic goal of achieving a trade turnover of 30 billion dollars]," said the head of the Russian government.

Mikhail Mishustin expressed hope that "interregional relations will be strengthened and new popular projects will be implemented in various fields, including joint industrial zones." He also emphasized the importance of strengthening transport links between the two countries and jointly developing reliable international logistics corridors "in order to increase cargo and passenger transportation".

The Prime Minister of Russia called deepening of industrial cooperation and expansion of export-import chains as promising directions. He noted that he was surprised by the company "Technopark", which he visited on this day. Here, on the territory of the former TAPOiCh plant, there are 17 productions: refrigerators, gas meters, cooling systems, elevators and escalators, water pumps, aluminum composite panels, radiators, metal structures and sandwich panels, washing machines, etc.

"This is a great work of our Uzbek friends, and it really shows excellent results in terms of the volume of industrial production, as well as the ongoing research and development work," said Mikhail Mishustin.

He noted that Russian business is actively investing in the economy of Uzbekistan. Russian retailers and e-commerce companies are "rapidly increasing their presence." "Cooperation in the field of energy, including the supply of natural gas, oil and oil products to Uzbekistan from Russia, is developing successfully. With the participation of the Rosatom company, we are moving the cooperation on peace atoms to a practical level," said the head of the Russian government.

"We suggest the development of other directions as well. We are studying the possibilities of organizing high-tech production of polymers, localizing civil drone systems and their components. "A decision in principle was made to create production facilities in the field of railway engineering in Uzbekistan," he said.

"Additional benefits for business will allow Uzbekistan to participate in Eurasian integration by opening new trade markets and creating conditions for fair competition," the Russian Prime Minister added.

He noted that strengthening humanitarian relations is one of the priority tasks. "We value the traditions of friendship and mutual respect that unite our countries. We approach general history very cautiously," said Mikhail Mishustin. He went to the Victory Park and noted that "the park made a strong impression on us."

According to the results of the last year, the flow of mutual tourists doubled to 1.2 million people. In the first half of this year, it increased again by 12 percent, Mishustin said. "Future coordinated actions in this area, conducting the Year of Uzbekistan Tourism in Russia" will help to increase these indicators. Passenger trains between Moscow and Tashkent will resume from September 24.

Mikhail Mishustin expressed confidence that the results of the commission meeting "will give an additional impetus to our cooperation", "will serve to develop the economy of Russia and Uzbekistan and, most importantly, to increase the well-being of our citizens." "We are working for this purpose," he said.
