The head of Hamas' foreign policy, Khaled Mashal, announced at the funeral of Ismail Haniya, the head of the movement's political bureau, that they will not negotiate, make concessions or recognize Israel.

Mashal made a speech at the funeral ceremony organized at the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhab Mosque in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

According to his words, Haniya lived among his people in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City and shared the pain and joy of his people. "Our dear brother, our leader, our martyred commander Abu al-Abd Ismail Abdussalam Haniya lived as a mujahideen and died as a martyr," said Mashal.

Noting that the slain Haniya served Palestine, its people and Jerusalem as a true mujahideen, Mashal added: "[Hania] fulfilled the role of prime minister. He was among his people from the beginning."

The martyr leaves, others take his place

"Israel did not learn any lessons from what happened," Mashal said. They killed our leaders for a century. One martyr leaves, others take his place. In this way, our people will continue on the path to freedom," he said.

Claiming that this situation only serves to strengthen the Palestinian people, Mashal continued: "They should know that we are all Mujahideen. We will continue to fight."
