In South Korea, more than 5,000 people have filed a lawsuit against seven high-ranking officials, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog, TsAXAL chief Halevi, Defense Minister Gallant, Foreign Minister Katz, Finance Minister Smotrich and National Security Minister Ben Gvir. They are charged with genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes against humanitarian efforts, and war crimes using weapons and funds prohibited in Gaza.
South Korea indicted seven high-ranking officials, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog, TsAXAL head Halevi, Defense Minister Gallant, Foreign Minister Katz, Finance Minister Smotrich and National Security Minister Ben Gvir.
The main charges are: genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes against humanitarian efforts and war crimes using prohibited weapons and funds in Gaza.
The accusations were made by People's Solidarity for Democracy. The petition was signed by more than 5,000 people, including two members of the country's National Assembly. The lawsuit seeks extradition of Israeli officials to South Korea to face trial in Korean courts and in the country.
“The indictment means that nearly 5,000 plaintiffs have admitted to committing genocide in Gaza. They are not only mourning, but also demanding that the culprits be severely punished according to South Korean law," said Lee Dong-hwa, ADI team manager.
