Between January and June, 292 civilians were injured by landmines and wartime ammunition explosions in Afghanistan, 256 of them children. According to the UN, half of all explosions occurred while children were playing, and another 15 percent occurred while collecting scrap metal.

Azerbaijan cleared more than 158,000 mines and unexploded ammunition placed by the Armenian army in the liberated territories. Since the end of the war, 70 Azerbaijani citizens have been killed and 309 injured as a result of mine explosions planted by Armenian forces during the occupation.
