Magomed Umarov, the head of Sergokalinsky district of Dagestan, was captured. Umarov's two sons, Adil and Osman, were said to have participated in the attacks on churches and synagogues in Makhachkala and Derbent, and both were shot dead. At the moment, an anti-terrorist operation regime has been introduced in Dagestan: roads leading to and from Makhachkala and Derbent are blocked, police are checking cars.

According to the base Telegram channel, at least five civilians were injured in the armed attack. The head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, said that more than 15 security personnel, the head of the police department of the city of "Dagestanskie Ogni" Mavluddin Khidirnabiev were killed in repelling the attack. The National Counter-Terrorism Committee reported that five armed individuals were killed during the operation.
