Trump: Mirziyoyev is a man of one word

In today's globalization environment, multilateral diplomacy is becoming increasingly important. The UN, as the most authoritative structure in international life, serves the cooperation of states on the path to peace and stability. The Republic of Uzbekistan also established close relations with the UN during the years of independence, and especially in recent years this relationship has reached a qualitatively new level.

Uzbekistan today is not indifferent to events in the region and the international arena. However, until recently, we treated such conflicts as if it were none of our business, a problem that does not concern us. Today, the situation is completely different: the President of the new Uzbekistan is responding to the realities taking place in the world with concern. He emphasizes that there is not a single minor issue in the world that does not affect Uzbekistan.
In his speech at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev put forward initiatives in important areas such as international security, education, water resources, ecology, and human rights protection. These proposals received broad support from the international community.

The Palestine-Israeli issue and Uzbekistan's position

The issue that attracted the most attention in the president's speech was the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Mirziyoyev firmly stated his support for the principle of "two peoples, two states" in accordance with UN resolutions. He noted that this is the only way to ensure peace and security for the two peoples.

The dire situation in the Gaza Strip, the victims of women and children, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of residents, were highlighted in the president's speech. He called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the resumption of political negotiations. This was shown as the only way to a just and sustainable solution.

The Uzbek leader also strongly condemned the humanitarian tragedies, noting that the existence of double standards in the international arena could lead to an escalation of the war.

Practical assistance from Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan provides assistance to the Palestinian people not only through political statements, but also through practical actions.

Our country allocated $1.5 million in aid, the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan to provide free treatment to Palestinian children and women affected by the war in the country's hospitals, and the provision of shelter to more than a hundred Palestinians in our country deserve special attention. Some of the residents of Gaza were given shelter, and free treatment of Palestinian children and women was established in our hospitals. Through this initiative, the leader of Uzbekistan showed his support for the Palestinian people not in words, but in deeds. The proposals raised in Shavkat Mirziyoyev's speech resonated with the hearts of the multinational and tolerant people of Uzbekistan. In fact, the peoples of the region in which we live have always been known to the world as countries longing for peace.
At the same time, the Uzbek delegation's walkout from the UN during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech was also a politically significant gesture. This action demonstrates our country's solidarity with the people of Gaza.

Uzbekistan–US relations

On September 23, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the world's leading power - the head of the United States, Donald Trump. The fact that only the president of Uzbekistan among the Central Asian countries has received such an honor indicates that Washington has high confidence in the reforms being implemented in our country. More precisely, this meeting also made the leadership of the neighboring country, which is striving for leadership in the region, think. The fact that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dismissed the ambassador and the minister of foreign affairs upon his return from the United States further reinforces this idea. Thus, Uzbekistan's investment attractiveness is increasing, favorable conditions are being created for business, and the results of reforms are beginning to be recognized all over the world. These agreements will serve to improve the lives of our people and expand the economic potential of our country.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev's meeting with the heads of leading American companies at a significant event in New York City was of deep historical significance. A portfolio of contracts and promising projects worth more than $100 billion was signed in priority areas such as civil aviation, mining, finance and innovation, chemistry, and energy. This indicator is a huge step forward for the economic development of our country and further strengthens Uzbekistan's influence in the international arena.

As a result of President Mirziyoyev's far-sighted and rational policy, Uzbekistan has entered a new stage of development. In our country, new directions of cooperation with America are being formed on the basis of openness, momentum and constructive policy. Donald Trump's statement that "President Mirziyoyev is a man of one word, we will continue to work together" is also an expression of this confidence. The American proverb "Listen to people's actions, not their words" fully corresponds to the activities of our president. Mirziyoyev has gained a reputation in the world community with his practical work, and Uzbekistan has begun to be recognized as a truly independent state. Because our country decides its fate not in other capitals, but in Tashkent.

On the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, friendly, mutually beneficial relations have developed with neighboring and distant countries. This has led to positive changes in the political, economic and social spheres. Shavkat Mirziyoyev's well-thought-out policy and determination are the main factors in these successes. International experts also emphasize that the countries of the region have an independent system and are finding their own way. In particular, cooperation with America can bring Uzbekistan and its neighbors to the global financial market, create broad opportunities in the fields of innovation, science and technology. Today, the economy cannot be run solely on mining or oil and gas. Investing in human capital is the most correct way. And the United States can provide great assistance in the fields of science, technology and education.

American politicians and public figures expect new initiatives and practical steps from President Mirziyoyev. His reforms are being positively assessed in Congress and government bodies. President Mirziyoyev considers democracy to be the only way out for Uzbekistan, and there is no turning back, he insists. This has opened a new page in relations with the United States. Previously unimaginable developments are taking place. The Trump administration sees Mirziyoyev as a leader who has turned regional stability in a positive direction. The fact that Tashkent has become the center of dialogue in the C5+1 format is also an expression of this confidence.

In addition, through this conversation with the US leader, Mirziyoyev wants to focus America's attention on Central Asia, and Uzbekistan in particular. Given the proximity of the new world superpower - China - to our borders and its growing influence in our region, on the one hand, and the threat of Russia, which invades the territory of an independent state under various pretexts and does not care about international laws and regulations, on the other, we should understand and appreciate that the president, as a pragmatic politician, is trying to pursue a policy of balance in the Middle East.

Uzbekistan's new role imposes new tasks and responsibilities on it. Amidst the complex situation, dangers and conflicts in the world, our country must always remain alert and vigilant. Historical experience shows that wars and conflicts bring only pain and losses to people. Therefore, our President emphasized the need to maintain a spirit of solidarity and cooperation on a global scale. The proposals and initiatives in his speech are important in that they are aimed at common security and development.

The main goal of Uzbekistan is to realize its responsibility for the present and future of countries and peoples, to involve all parties ready for open dialogue and constructive cooperation in a global dialogue. In this way, our country is showing itself as a state actively participating in ensuring peace and sustainable development not only in the region, but also in the whole world.
