"Is the city stupid?" — Deputy Chairman of the MTDP condemned the holding of a beer festival in Tashkent

Feruza Muhammadjonova, deputy chairwoman of the Milliy Tiklanish party, expressed her opinion on the "Beer Festival" held in Tashkent. She is surprised that everyone is protesting against the cutting of trees, but there is silence regarding the beer festival.

"The square was crowded with people. Most of the participants were young people. The Russian-language media covered this topic extensively. The Uzbek-language media and intellectuals were silent. On the other side of Tashkent, the Center for Islamic Civilization is being built...

"This is not the first time the beer festival has been held. Holding this event is becoming a tradition," Feruza Muhammadjonova began.

The party representative noted that in Uzbek society, alcohol festivals are also held openly, with public noise and advertising.

Some circles justify such festivals as "for tourists" and "to make the city look open and modern." But the question arises: is "openness" without calculating the consequences - development or abandonment of identity?!

According to Muhammadjonova, no modern city develops by losing its identity.

"We know that in 1886, in the new part of Tashkent, "Pawn Market" - taverns were opened deliberately to unsettle the people, the indigenous population. Tsarism is understandable. Who is supporting this event today and why?!"

Uzbekistan is not Germany, which generates about 1 billion euros in revenue from so many events every year...
There is no justification for offering our young people alcohol for only 5,000 soums!

Tashkent is the heart of the country. Culture, politics, tourism, media - it all begins here. So, any event held here should be an example for the entire country. However, it is unlikely that such events will reach Bukhara, Samarkand, and even Kokand. Maybe they have already reached...

Holding a beer festival in Tashkent is not just an activist or business initiative, but a disregard for the national traditions and identity of the people, even an insult!

"Beer today, wine tomorrow, and then liquor bars - events that take place without any cultural restrictions. In this way, society can be changed gradually, without being noticed," he wrote.

Muhammadjonova acknowledged that what one drinks is a personal choice, but stressed that this choice cannot be allowed to be promoted in public places, in front of the entire society.

"When the concept of freedom is confused with uncivilization and immoderation, this is a sign of a society's loss of identity," he said.

The party representative stressed that the public should express its opinion against such mass propaganda. He also noted that there are enough problems in this area, and that, according to experts, the youngest drug addict in Uzbekistan is 12 years old.

"So, the issue being debated today is not just about trees. It is about human life and future."
If society is so actively mobilized for a tree, then one can have great hopes for this society. Because the hadith that says, "Even if you see the Day of Judgment approaching, if you have a sapling in your hand, plant it."

"However, there seems to be a double standard here: rebellion against logging and silence against the beer festival!" he added.

In conclusion, Muhammadjonova said:

"Just as we protect a tree, we must be just as determined in matters concerning our identity."
I agree with Alisher Kadyrov's words: "I wish we could unite against the waste of water, land, energy resources, food, time, and even our own selves, just as we unite to protect trees."
