In Chilonzor, Sergeli and Yangihayot districts of Tashkent, environmental monitoring was carried out in connection with the activities of enterprises that have an impact on the environment. The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change reported that these events were held due to the increasing level of air pollution .

During the monitoring, 70 enterprises belonging to the I and II categories of environmental impact, located in Chilonzor district, including enterprises that produce concrete, flour products, ceramics and tiles, textile and other products, were given warning letters about the installation of dust and gas cleaning equipment. 68 enterprises in Sergeli district and 22 in Yangihayot district belonging to the I and II categories of environmental impact were warned to install dust and gas cleaning equipment.

Also, as of January 12, 2024, 42 enterprises located in Tashkent submitted a plan of measures. Among them, 75 actions on the protection of atmospheric air have been determined. Based on the data of 9 (3 government, 2 non-governmental, 2 legal and 2 private) stations in the capital of Uzbekistan, the Swiss company IQAir reported that on January 22, the concentration of RM2.5 in the atmosphere of Tashkent (small particles with a size of 0.001 to 2.5 micrometers) ) showed that it is equal to 125 (45.3 micrograms per cubic meter) . The WHO recommendation is 5 μg/m3 per year and 15 μg/m3 per day. Accordingly, the air of Tashkent is currently 9 times more polluted. In some parts of the city, for example, near the international airport, this indicator is 172 (97 µg/m3).

At the same time, the concentration of RM2.5 is 21 in Istanbul (Turkey), 33 in Beijing (China), 67 in Seoul (South Korea), 41 in Moscow (Russia), and 42 in Paris (France).
