Were leaflets calling for war distributed in Kazakhstan?
An investigation is underway in Kazakhstan into leaflets calling for participation in the war started by Russia.
According to Tengrinews, recently, photos of leaflets calling for participation in the war have been circulating on social media. These leaflets show the Russian Ministry of Defense and its contact information.
It is reported that the leaflets were distributed on the streets of Kazakhstan's cities - Astana, Almaty, and Atyrau.
The National Security Committee reported that an investigation is underway into the posting of these leaflets on the Internet. The country's Interior Ministry denied the information.
Since 2022, 97 criminal cases have been initiated in Kazakhstan regarding the participation of citizens in wars abroad. Five under Article 170, and 92 under Article 172. That is, at least 97 Kazakhstanis participated in military conflicts abroad.
