Weddings are regulated in Uzbekistan

Weddings in Uzbekistan are regulated according to a draft approved by presidential decree .

According to it, it is planned to adopt a joint decision of the councils of the parliamentary chambers on regulating the holding of weddings, celebrations, and ceremonies by August.

New mechanisms are also envisaged to foster a culture of savings among young people.

The chambers of the Oliy Majlis, the Ministry of Culture, the Committee on Family and Women, and the Committee on Religious Affairs have been designated as responsible for the project.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also condemned lavish weddings in a video conference held in March 2018 and banned heads of executive bodies from attending wedding ceremonies.
