Visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan: what is known?
President of Kazakhstan Qasim-Jomart Tokaev visited Uzbekistan on April 5. The presidents held an informal meeting in Khiva. During the talks, in addition to comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, they exchanged views on the issues of ensuring stability and security in the Central Asian region.
At the invitation of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Kazakhstan Qasim-Jomart Tokaev visited Uzbekistan on April 5. Qasim-Jomart Tokayev was met by Shavkat Mirziyoyev at Urganch International Airport.
First, the leaders of the two countries visited the "Khiva Carpets" plant in Khiva.
The presidents familiarized themselves with the production process and showroom of the enterprise, viewed the exhibition of products under the brand "Made in Uzbekistan" organized on the territory of the combine.
Responsible ministries and agencies were instructed to exchange experience, develop cooperation and trade.
Then an informal meeting was held in Khiva.
During the negotiations, issues of further strengthening of strategic partnership and alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, expansion of all-round practical cooperation were discussed.
The presidents gave specific instructions on increasing trade, forming a long-term program on industrial cooperation, and implementing infrastructural projects in transport and energy.
Qasim-Jomart Toqaev emphasized at the meeting that the Kazakh-Uzbek tandem is a vital necessity.
"We can ensure the stable development of our countries only together and united," Tokaev said. In this regard, it was reported that the head of Kazakhstan supported the adoption of the strategic partnership and alliance program between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan until 2034.
During the negotiations, the heads of state also paid special attention to the issues of ensuring stability and security in the Central Asian region. In this context, the presidents discussed the progress of preparations for the next 6th consultative meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries, as well as the prospects of mutual cooperation in the S5+ format.
The President of Kazakhstan Qasim-Jomart Tokayev, accompanied by the leader of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the historical monuments of the ancient Ichan-castle complex of Khiva and the Nurillaboy palace.
On this day, the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan ended. The high-ranking guest was escorted by the President of Uzbekistan at Urganch International Airport.
